I have plenty of debian including etch and haven't needed any modifications.
152  General Category / Report Bugs / Re: prefix may contain leading slash, but s3fox doesn't play nice on: December 12, 2007, 09:01:58 PM
Ideally you'd use the deletebucket verb.  deleteall is just a simple loop of delete's, and delete is for nodes not buckets.
153  General Category / Questions / Re: Broken Pipe: solved? on: December 12, 2007, 04:03:39 PM
In my experience broken pipe was often as not on the local side.. and having the same connection object ought not to prevent it from REconnecting.  But I'll see if I can make it start with more of a "clean slate" in error conditions.
154  General Category / Questions / Re: I cant get it to work on: December 12, 2007, 06:04:05 AM
apt-get install libopenssl-ruby
155  General Category / Feature Requests / Re: Using S3Sync through a proxy server on: December 07, 2007, 07:47:24 AM
Well I should be able to make proxy work right.  I'll add it to the list of stuff for the next update.
156  General Category / General Discussion / Re: load_path for running from a different directory on: December 06, 2007, 04:09:45 AM
I've got a handful of these contributed tweaks and so I'll try to do a nice little "ease-of-use" update this weekend if I have time.
157  General Category / Announcements / EC2UI Mod extension on: November 28, 2007, 03:46:21 PM
Instead of patching the AWS one I figured out how to overlay/extend it.

I actually wish the ruby http lib could understand early responses... It might make implementation of 100-continue handling possible.  I don't remember for sure but I think my code emits the http response on error if you used -d.
159  General Category / Questions / Re: SSL ?s on: November 27, 2007, 12:35:57 AM
The only cert that I know how to use is the one that AWS owns and uses to identify s3.amazonaws.com.  This is the one whose public key is in the readme.  I guess there must be some method to specify certs for subdomain (EU) and vanity URL modes, but I haven't been keeping up with that.  Anyone else want to jump in?
160  General Category / Announcements / EC2UI Firefox extension mod on: November 27, 2007, 12:19:25 AM
Not directly related to s3sync...

161  General Category / Questions / Re: how to retrieve an entire bucket from another instance? on: November 26, 2007, 12:32:18 PM
Sure s3sync should work fine.

Can you show me the results of s3cmd.rb list c24h-vBkp20071122
(if it's long then the first page is enough)

Then go back to what I said above.  Post the commands you are using for both operations.  Also use the -d option so I can see what it is thinking.

You are essentially saying "hi it does not work"; how can we help you without even seeing what you might be doing wrong?
163  General Category / Questions / Re: how to retrieve an entire bucket from another instance? on: November 26, 2007, 03:51:14 AM
Oh.  Well s3sync doesn't need to know anything about where you are running it.  Just tell it the s3 source path and the target local path like in the README examples.
